There’s something truly special happening in the heart of the woods this summer. Audley End Miniature Railway has launched its first-ever Summer Festival—and it’s set to be a family favourite. Whether your little ones are fairy fans, creative crafters, or just love an adventure, there’s something for everyone on this enchanting day out.
Step into a Summer of Imagination
Hop aboard the miniature train and journey through the woodland, where you might just catch sight of teddy bears enjoying their own festival fun! The ride winds through leafy trees before reaching the magical clearing where Cristabelle the Wishing Fairy and Twig the Elf await. Children will love hearing their charming tale and making a wish of their own – a truly sweet touch.

A Festival Full of Wonder
Back at Woodland Station, the real fun begins. Your ticket includes a whole day of activities designed to spark imagination, get little hands busy, and bring plenty of laughter:
- Face painting at the Craft Lodge
- Forest bathing – a calming nature experience
- Giant art wall for collaborative creativity
- Den building area for wild little adventurers
- Wacky mirrors that’ll have the whole family giggling
- Railway Racers go-kart track for a bit of friendly competition
- Fairy & Elf Parades – twice a day, filled with sparkle and music
There are also plenty of photo opportunities dotted around, so you’ll have lovely mementos from your visit.

Live Entertainment in the Stage Tent
The Stage Tent is where the action continues. DJ Melody keeps the energy high with a setlist made for dancing. Throughout the day you’ll also find a changing line-up of family-friendly performances and activities including:
- Children’s yoga sessions
- Magical storytelling
- Live musicians
- A thrilling fire-breathing show
It’s a festival that really brings something new around every corner.
A New Addition: Punting on the River
For the first time ever at Audley End Miniature Railway, families can enjoy a peaceful punt along the river. This serene 15-minute journey is guided by trained staff and offers a unique way to take in the surrounding woodland. You’ll drift quietly through nature, passing under Adam Bridge, soaking up that classic summer feeling. It’s a gentle, relaxing contrast to the buzz of the festival – and a lovely way to round off the day.
