From Friday 23rd May through to Monday 26th May, visitors to Braintree Village can enjoy a varied programme of feel-good favourites, perfect for all ages. Whether you’re planning a daytime outing with little ones or a nostalgic date night, there’s something for everyone at this open-air cinema experience.
What’s On at the Outdoor Cinema?
Across the long weekend, ten different films will be shown at the Braintree Village Outdoor Cinema, with a mix of recent releases and all-time classics:
???? Daytime screenings include:
- Wicked
- Moana 2
- Barbie
- Toy Story
- Shrek
- Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
???? Evening showstoppers will feature:
- Dirty Dancing
- The Greatest Showman
- Mamma Mia!
- Grease
Gates open 45 minutes before each screening, giving you time to get settled with snacks and blankets in hand.

Where Is It?
The cinema will pop up next to the North Car Park at Braintree Village, the same location as the festive ice rink and the Easter circus. It’s a well-loved space that’s hosted plenty of seasonal fun—and now it’s transforming again for a long weekend of big screen joy.

A Word from Braintree Village
Josef O’Sullivan, Centre Director at Braintree Village, shared his excitement about the event’s return:
“We’re really excited to welcome back the wonderful Outdoor Cinema for the late May Bank Holiday weekend, after such a successful debut last summer. It’s a fantastic experience for guests, whether they’re visiting especially for the cinema, or as part of a full day out here at Braintree Village.”
